Much the same work as anywhere, with two differences: you compete for local and national searches at once, and the meetings can happen in person.
Local and national searches
A Manchester firm usually competes in two places: searches that name the city, and national searches against every firm in the UK. The audit sets out which matter to you and plans for both.
In person when it helps
Kick-offs, walkthroughs and workshops can happen at your office. The rest of the work runs remotely, which keeps it moving between meetings.
Alongside your agency, or inside it
If you use a Manchester agency, I can set its targets and check the work. If you run one, I can join on contract and take client meetings with your team.
How the audit covers it
The visibility research covers the searches that name Manchester and the national ones, and the commercial pages your buyers land on.
Established Manchester businesses that need search to bring in customers.
- Professional services
- Law firms, accountancies and consultancies competing for high-value searches in the city and beyond.
- B2B services
- Firms selling to other businesses, where buyers research online long before they get in touch.
- Ecommerce
- Manchester retailers selling online across the UK, where category and product pages carry the revenue.
- Fintech and financial services
- Financial firms where Google holds content to a stricter standard of expertise and trust.
- Manchester agencies
- Agencies that need senior SEO on contract, for client work and client meetings.
Who will I work with?

Questions before an engagement
Something not covered here? Ask me directly.
Do you only work with Manchester businesses?
No. I’m based in Greater Manchester and work with businesses across the UK and abroad. For Manchester clients, I can meet in person when it helps.
Do you meet clients in person?
Yes. Kick-offs, walkthroughs and workshops can happen at your office. Day-to-day work runs remotely.
How much does an SEO consultant cost in Manchester?
The same as anywhere else I work. The SEO audit is a fixed fee of £1,800 for one website in one market, up to 500 pages. As your fractional SEO lead I work on a monthly retainer from £4,000, and agency oversight and agency contracts are £450 a day.
Should I use an SEO consultant or a Manchester SEO agency?
A consultant gives you one experienced person setting the priorities and doing much of the work. An agency gives you more people, which suits a large content programme. Plenty of businesses use both, with the consultant setting the targets the agency works to.
Do you work with Manchester agencies?
Yes, in two ways. I can oversee an agency on a client’s behalf, or work in-house at an agency on contract, on its clients’ SEO and in its client meetings.
